The day everything changed, I found a message on his phone. It said, “I miss you.” My heart stopped. He was having an affair. I asked him, “Who is she?” He looked scared. I knew this was it. I needed to know the truth. Would he admit it?

He didn’t speak at first. He looked away. I felt my heart twist. I asked again, quietly. “Who is she?” He sighed, finally speaking. “Her name is Lisa.” My chest felt tight. I had to sit down. I thought I might cry. But I didn’t. I just sat there.

He told me everything. They met at work. It started small. Texts, calls, meetings. It grew more and more. Now, it was serious. I felt sick. I had trusted him. We had a family. I needed to stay calm. I asked him if he loved her. He hesitated. “I think so,” he said.

He moved out that week. For Lisa. I tried to be strong. For our kids. We told them he needed space. They were sad. I held them close. I didn’t let them see me cry. But at night, I cried alone. The house felt empty. I felt alone.

Everyday things felt different. Making breakfast, shopping, paying bills. Everything was hard. Friends called to check on me. I told them I was okay. I had to be okay. For my kids. They needed me. I needed to keep going.

One day, I saw them together. At the mall. He looked the same, but not at me. Lisa was laughing. They seemed so happy. I felt a pang of pain. But I turned away. I kept walking. I refused to break down. Not there. Not in front of them.

I started focusing on myself. I joined a gym. I made new friends. Slowly, I felt stronger. I was doing it. My kids and I had a routine. We were healing. Sometimes, I missed him. But not the pain he caused. I was learning to live without him.

Exactly one year later, everything changed again. I saw an update online. Lisa left him. She found someone else. Someone richer. He was alone now. Just like he left me. I felt so many things. But I stayed calm. He called me later. He sounded lost.

He asked if we could meet. I said no. I had moved on. I wasn’t angry. I was just done. I heard he sold the house. Moved to a smaller one. He lost a lot with Lisa. More than he ever thought. Everyone saw his mistake.

I wasn’t happy about his loss. But I felt strong. Justice came without me. I didn’t do anything. Life had its way. I was proud. I stayed calm through it all. Now, I have my kids, my strength. My life is better. I am okay now.
